Tetsuo: The Bullet Man is both co-written and directed by cult Japanese filmmaker Shinya Tsukamoto, who started this with Tetsuo: The Iron Man then Tetsuo II: Body Hammer, and directed Bullet Ballet, A Snake of June and Nightmare Detective 1 & 2. It was co-written by Tsukamoto and Hisakatsu Kuroki (Nightmare Detective 2). This premiered at the Venice Film Festival and also played Sitges, San Sebastián and Tribeca.
